Abrahamsson European Association Of Urology's (EAU's) New Secretary GeneralPosted on 2/11/2008 at 10:44 AM - 0 Comments - Post Comment - LinkThe European Association of Urology (EAU) elected Per-Anders Abrahamsson as their new secretary general replacing Pierre Teillac who left Europe's largest urological association to pursue another career. He was given a majority of votes during the general assembly held on the final day of the EAU's four-day annual congress in Berlin from 21-24 March.Professor Abrahamsson is the EAU's fifth Secretary General and the first Swede to lead the EAU which represents around 10,000 urologists since the association was officially set up in 1973. Aside from Abrahamsson the EAU also elected Professor Walter Artibani from Milan, Italy as Adjunct Secretary General, the post vacated by Abrahamsson. Professor Abrahamsson led a standing ovation to thank Professor Pierre Teillac for his leadership in the last three years. Teillac, who served after the term of EAU's co-founder and longest-serving former Secretary General Prof. Frans Debruyne, says he is confident Abrahamsson would not only continue with the EAU's goals but will also build on more successes in the coming years. Abrahamsson says the EAU is building on its previous collaborative work between the national societies of Europe, which has been enormously successful and also establishing firm links with a number of international urology associations. Abrahamsson added that it is important for the EAU to come up with effective long-term strategies that will further boost the influence of European urology. An essential part of the EAU´s future success, according to Prof. Abrahamsson, is the fact that the professional people in the EAU Central Office and the EAU's Executive committee and board members have a long history and a very close relationship. People visit here for varied reasons. Some come to Delhi for travel and
some sections of the people come for treatment. When they lose hope and
their local doctors put their hands up, they come here to cure deadly
diseases. All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Apollo Hospitals are
very famous and well-known hospitals in Delhi and patients come here
from every nook and corner for treatment. Those big and famous
hospitals of Delhi have been a ray of hope for the patient and their
relatives. Once they step into AIIMS or Apollo, they feel that 70% of
their pain has been cured.
No doubt, that AIIMS and Apollo hospital is a buzz house of talented and well-experienced doctors. Patients find their doctors demi God who can do miracle. If after a long treatment they are not cured, then all their hopes and aspirations are shattered down. Hospital is an institution of health care. Hospitals in Delhi provide all the basic amenities to their patients and also provide a helping hand to the relatives. The doctors are lenient and always try their level best to cure their patients. Doctors and staffs strive to provide comprehensive, high quality tertiary care services including specialty and super-specialty services. They never discriminate on the basis of caste and creed. People find the hospitals in Delhi very advanced.
Speaking about the top most hospital in Delhi i.e., AIIMS, we can say that it is an institution which works only for the betterment of their patients. They try their level best to provide the best treatment to the ailing. Doctors always get to experience new diseases and they research on that and find solutions to fight against those diseases. All modern equipments can be found here. Departments like Neurology, Neurosurgery, Oncology, Ophthalmology, Rheumatology, Endocrinology, ENT, Pediatrics, Pediatric Surgery, Pediatric Neurology, Urology, Nephrology, Dermatology, Dentistry, Plastic Surgery, Gynecology, Pulmonology, Psychiatry, General Medicine & General Surgery can be found in all the famous hospitals of Delhi. There are sufficient numbers of patients and doctors to take care of the patients. The doctors and staffs of the hospitals in Delhi work hard to stand up to the expectation of the people.
Honestly speaking, today the internal politics of the doctors and the staffs has polluted the environment of the hospitals. Doctors are playing with the life of the patients to satisfy their personal benefits. They are taking their noble profession too lightly. The bad activities of the doctors are being flashed on the newspaper very often. At times, the doctors become so negligible that they leave small equipments on the operating body and they escape unnoticed. Hope the time comes very soon when the doctors will truly give value to their profession and give their heart and soul maximum in treating their patient honestly and sincerely.
